A veterinarian connecting between the Research, the farm practice and the family kitchen.

Ten + years in veterinary service, a master's degree in poultry science and hands on experience in clinical canine nutrition & therapeutics, brought together into one public, non-commercial teaching practice.

The work

My days are spent where animal health policy meets practice: disease surveillance, vaccination drives, farmer advisory visits and the ordinary clinical work of a government veterinary officer in West Bengal, India.. That routine is also the richest teaching material I have.

My postgraduate research was in poultry nutrition, specifically the use of plant-based feed additive in growth performance and meat quality in broiler chicken. That work shaped how I approach every feed question since: define the nutrient specification first, then choose ingredients, then verify performance on the farm rather than on paper.

Alongside poultry work, I experienced in clinical canine nutrition and therapeutics during my hospital duties and after watching too many well-meaning households feed home-cooked meals that were calorically generous and nutritionally incomplete. A homemade diet can be excellent, but only when it is calculated.
